Significant Events in Orlyk's History
1949
Orlyk was formed in Manchester by ballet master & choreographer Petro Lazoryshak-Dnistrowyk
1950
The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) awarded Orlyk the honorary title of the Representative Folk Dance Ensemble in Great Britain
1958
First win at Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, Wales
1977
Orlyk performs before Her Highness Queen Elizabeth II, His Royal Highness Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh and other members of the Royal Family in the Royal Albert Hall, London
1988
The ensemble took part in the historical celebration of the millennium of the Baptism of Rus-Ukraine in the Royal Albert Hall. London. Later in the same year Orlyk again performed in the Vatican in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II and the Hierarchy of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.
1989

1991
The unforgettable highlight of Orlyk’s tour of Ukraine occurred in Boryslav – in mid-concert, on the 24th August, Ukraine declared its independence from the USSR.
1991
Orlyk performed for the Lord Mayor of London in the Royal Albert Hall for the ‘Lord Mayor’s Extravaganza’ in aid of ‘Children In Need’.
1990
Performed in Berlin as the famous dividing wall began to fall
