Troyanda Ukrainian dance group. We are a small group with ages ranging from five to mid teens, mostly girls . I have learned dances from the Hutzal region Volyn and Poltava regions my mother is of Ukrainian decent and comes from Dauphin Manitoba The home of the Zirka Riding and Dancing Cossaks.  I saw the grandstand performance last August and it was wonderful to see part of my heritage. I'm only ten and have been dancing for three years and just love it.

The best information I´ve got about Pylyp Orlyk!  If you are interested I can inform you that recently (June 18 2001) the Ukrainian ambassador to Sweden placed a memorial plate on the wall of the building in the small town Kristianstad in the county of Skaane in southern Sweden, where Pylyp Orlyk lived a few years after the battle of Poltava. he later moved to Stockholm before he left Sweden.

Comments: You are doing a great job on the website - by adding explanations of the dances and providing the opportunity for some level of interaction. Perhaps one day you can put a forum up where folks with memories can add to this.
I remember my uncle Petro Dnistrowyk as a very very kind man who really live very modestly in a single room bedsit with his wife Milya on Cheetham Hill. It was always great to visit him - as he always had something interesting to show. As a young man he was tortured by the NKVD in Lviv, but you would not know it from his empathy and kindness.
