Britain's Got Talent

Orlyk successfully managed to get through to the final stages of ITV's Britain's Got Talent 2010 (the last 120 acts out of the many thousands that entered) after auditioning in front of the judges Simon, Piers and Amanda.

Britain's Got Talent (often shortened to BGT) is a British television show on ITV by Ant & Dec where singers, dancers, comedians and other performers compete against each other for audience support. Britain's Got More Talent is a companion show that airs on digital channel ITV2 after the main ITV1 Britain's Got Talent show and is currently hosted by Stephen Mulhern.

During the auditions we even managed to convince both Ant and Dec (ITV1) and Steve (ITV2) to try out some Ukrainian dance steps while wearing Cossack hats after being interviewed by them!

First Auditions

Orlyk’s BGT adventure began in 2009 when we were specifically invited to attend the first auditions at Manchester Central. The producers were especially keen for Orlyk to attend so on Sunday 29th November we auditioned in front of only one producer and a cameraman to earn the right to go through to the second stages of the prestigious competition.

We were very pleased to find out in January 2010 that we did get through to the second stage and began to look forward to auditioning in front of the judges Simon, Piers and Amanda later that month.

Second Auditions

The second audition process began on Friday 22nd January in the Radisson Edwardian Hotel, Manchester where we did some interviews & spot performances for the cameras during the day. Later on in the evening we walked passed the crowds queuing to get into the auditions and into the Opera House. We were the first act to audition in the evening and we performed a two minute routine to a 2000 strong live audience (and the famous judges of course!).

After the routine we were interviewed by Simon, Piers and Amanda and Simon informed us that we would be going through to the third stage of the auditions in London.

Third Auditions

On Friday 12th February we were called back to The Grand Connaught Rooms, London to discover whether we had progressed to the live semi-finals. These third auditions were where the judges had to whittle almost 120 successful acts down to just 40. Unfortunately we didn’t make it into the last 40 acts although we were very proud to get as far as we did!
