Saturday 11th July – Competition (Llangollen International Eisteddfod - Wales)

16th to 19th July – Festival (Festival Internacional de Música de Cantonigròs – Spain)
Orlyk took part in a competition along with 10 other groups from around the world at the Festival Internacional de Música de Cantonigròs in Spain and were proud to win first prize. Orlyk also danced in the evening concerts each day and the parade on the Saturday afternoon.

September 2009


Sunday 13th September – Concert (Bolton)
On 13 September AUGB Manchester and Bolton Branches jointly celebrated 18 years of Ukraine’s Independence with a major concert at AUGB Community Centre in Bolton. The concert was well attended from the North West with Yevhen Czolij, President of Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), as the main guest. The concert was opened by Manchester Branch's Cultural Officer, Bohdan Ratycz, who greeted other guests including Rev. J. Rij, Rev. E. Nebesniak, Rev. B.Matwijczuk and Rev. D. Hedilczak. For Orlyk performed in to its usual high standards in the finale contributing to a thoroughly entertaining and enjoyable day.

Saturday 24th September – Concert (Doncaster)
Orlyk was invited to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of the Ukrainian Club in Doncaster and performed a 1 hour show to a very appreciative audience.

Friday 16th October – Concert (Frodsham)
Following a successful show in 2008, Orlyk was invited back to perform at the Frodsham Music & Arts Club Festival with an exciting 90 minute show packed full of dances, music & songs.

Saturday 24th October – 60th Anniversary Dinner/Dance (Alma Lodge - Stockport)
Orlyk celebrated its 60th Anniversary with a special dinner/dance at the prestigious Alma Lodge Hotel in Stockport which was enjoyed by over 150 people including many past & present members. Orlyk also performed a thrilling cabaret by dancing the famous Hopak.
