Guild Hall, Preston - Orlyk supported the International Aid trust by performing at its charity celebrations at the Guild Hall in Preston. The evening proved a magnificent success amongst the 1200 people that attended.

November 2006


Celje, Slovenia - Orlyk had the pleasure of performing in Slovenia on Friday 17th November 2006 at the recently renovated Municipal Hall in the city of Celje. The group danced in front of a select audience of over 400 people, including the Ukrainian Ambassador, Mr. Stanislav Yezhov, the Consul of the Embassy, Mr Ruslan Zhgutov and the Secretary of the Ukrainian Society in Slovenia, Mr Andrej Hevka. The first half of the 50 minute programme included Vechornytsi, Poltavka, Deviatka, Vertilka & Kozatstvo while the second half consisted of Horlytsia, Kozachok, Na Lyvadi & Hopak. The evening ended with Maria Babych, Orlyk's Choreographer, being presented with a gift and the show climaxed with an encore from the group.

November 2006


Ukrainian Club, Manchester - Orlyk celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the birth of the original founder of the group, Petro Dnistrowyk on Sunday 25th November. The event was attended by over 100 past and present dancers from all generations. Original archive cine film footage of performances from the 1950s, 1960s and beyond were transferred to DVD for everyone to watch on a big screen. In addition, the dancers enjoyed reminiscing about the past while looking at the many photos and programmes on display
